Automotive Industry Becomes Mainstay of Indonesian Economic Growth, GIIAS 2023 Bandung Opens

“By holding GIIAS Bandung, the Indonesian automotive industry has the opportunity to introduce new models and technologies, specifically for the people of West Java, so that the potential of West Java can continue to be encouraged and maximized,” he explained.

Apart from that, GAIKINDO also wants to continue to be part of the growth of the motor vehicle industry in West Java.

GIIAS Bandung 2023 was officially opened, DFSK and Seres showed off two electric cars (/Rahman) Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin who was represented by the Head of West Java Bapenda Dedi Taufik in his speech expressed his gratitude to GAIKINDO for holding the GIIAS Bandung 2023 exhibition.

Meanwhile, Taufiek Bawazier, Director General of the Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, said that GIIAS The Series is a series of automotive exhibitions from GAIKINDO which are present in strategic cities in Indonesia.

“GIIAS Bandung 2023 is the fourth city and closing city of the GIIAS The Series 2023 which was successfully held in August in Tangerang, September in Surabaya and October in Semarang,” he explained.

Then, the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by Taufiek Bawazier and accompanied by the Head of the West Java Bapenda, Dedi Taufik, the Chair of Commission III of the West Java DPRD, Phinera Wijaya, the General Chair of GAIKINDO, Yohannes Nangoi and the Chair of the GAIKINDO Exhibition Organizer, Rizwan Alamsjah officially opened GIIAS Bandung 2023 as of today. The exhibition will take place from 22-26 November 2023 at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom.

Taufiek Bawazier added that holding the GIIAS The Series 2023 directly is expected to be a lever for productivity factors to increase the utilization of domestically produced vehicles. It is also proof that the automotive industry, which is used as a mainstay industry, can make a real contribution to the growth of the Indonesian economy.

The brands present at GIIAS 2023 Bandung are 15 passenger cars, three motorbike brands, as well as various supporting lines. Namely Audi, Chery, Daihatsu, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi Motors, Seres, Suzuki, Toyota, Volkswagen, to Wuling, Benelli, Keeway, to Royal Enfield.
