Daihatsu and PBSI Hold International Badminton Tournament

Daihatsu always wants to be a friend to all Indonesian people and contribute positively to the nation with its commitment to building the country’s badminton achievements. Globally, Daihatsu consistently provides support for badminton in 3 countries, namely Indonesia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Japan.

Daihatsu through the principals of Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. is again the main sponsor of an international badminton tournament for the 7th time, namely Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2024. Daihatsu and PBSI (Badminton Association of Indonesia) are again collaborating in organizing the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2024 and will take place at Istora Senayan, Jakarta on January 23-28 next 2024.

This international scale badminton tournament is at the BWF World Tour Super 500 level. The ongoing partnership with DAIHATSU has pushed the Indonesia Masters to become one of the big sports agendas in Indonesia, creating a memorable experience for badminton fans and being attended by many world-class athletes.

“We would like to thank PBSI (Badminton Association of Indonesia) for its trust, and all people from the community and badminton fans for their extraordinary interest in the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters. “We hope that this tournament can contribute to improving the quality of badminton sports achievements, as well as providing the best opportunities for the players and making the nation proud,” said Sri Agung Handayani, Marketing Director and Corporate Planning & Communication Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM).

In the 2023 tournament, Indonesia as the host managed to win 2 champions, namely Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin who won the gold medal in front of their fans for the Men’s Doubles, and Jonatahan Christie who also won the gold medal in the Men’s Singles category.

This time, in 2024, badminton fans can enjoy the action of host badminton players such as Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin, Gregoria Mariska, and Jonatan Christie who will compete for Indonesia’s glory for six full days. Apart from that, Daihatsu also provides various facilities such as photobooths and games that can be enjoyed while waiting for your favorite athlete’s match schedule.

General Chair of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Agung Firman Sampurna said, Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2024 is the first step towards brilliant achievements in 2024.

“Badminton is an Indonesian tradition and the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2024 in January is a stage for athletes to start the season well. “This tournament is included in the Race to Olympics points calculation so that world stars will show their full abilities,” he said.

Daihatsu’s work as the main sponsor of prestigious tournaments in the country began in 2018-2020 when the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters was held at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, which was a great success and involved the world’s top players. Followed by the next events in 2021 in Bali, June 2022 and 2023 at Istora Senayan, and in 2024, the world’s top players are ready to return to Jakarta to compete for the championship title and prove their best achievements.

Daihatsu Indonesia Masters is a world-class badminton tournament and is one of the important agendas for badminton in Indonesia which brings together players from all over the world, and inspires a new generation of national athletes to showcase their abilities on the global stage. It is hoped that this tournament will also be able to produce talented young players for the future.

National badminton player, Jonatan Christie, revealed that the DAIHATSU Indonesia Masters has been an extraordinary tournament to start the season for both athletes and fans.
