Electronic tickets in 2023 have been implemented in several cities in Indonesia, including fines for not wearing a helmet.

However, for some drivers, this policy is misused and quite a few violate applicable traffic rules. One of the violations that drivers often commit is not wearing a helmet.

So how much is the ticket fine that must be paid if an electronic ticket is recorded for not wearing a helmet?

Quoted from the Daihatsu page, Tuesday (21/11/2023), motorbike riders or passengers who do not use national standard helmets can be subject to criminal penalties, either in the form of imprisonment for a maximum of 1 month or a fine of up to IDR 250 thousand, in accordance with Article 291 paragraph 1.

The use of your own helmet must not be random, and must bear the SNI logo in accordance with article 106. If the motorbike driver is wearing a helmet, but the passenger is not wearing a helmet.

So the driver is considered negligent and allowed the passenger to commit the violation. If this condition occurs to you as a driver, then you could be subject to a ticket fine of up to IDR 250 thousand in accordance with article 291 paragraph 2.
