Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a concept or program that a company has as a form of concern and sense of responsibility for the surrounding environment. Carried out to improve the welfare of the surrounding community and protect the environment. For Pertamina, one form of this is an entrepreneurship program in the workshop sector.
The workshop sector itself is very close to the business sector that Pertamina operates in, especially the automotive sector. Namely regarding lubricants or oil and fuel for two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.
Quoted from the Antara news agency, Pertamina is collaborating with the class II A prison in Sidoarjo, East Java, to present an enduro workshop for inmates in order to carry out CSR program innovations for the community.
“This program is implemented in Pertamina’s efforts to continue to encourage community independence through an entrepreneurship program in the workshop sector,” explained Dwi Puja Ariestya, Executive General Manager of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus.
He added that the Pertamina Enduro Friends of Prisons Program is the result of collaboration between PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus and PT Pertamina Lubricants in collaboration with Sidoarjo Class IIA Prisons.

Dwi Puja Ariestya added that the program focuses on increasing the capacity of Correctional Students (Andikpas) and Correctional Inmates (WBP) in terms of practical skills and expertise in the field of entrepreneurship workshop.
“This program is the first of its kind in the region of East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara. It is hoped that this program will be able to equip prison friends who are here before they return to society,” said Dwi Puja Ariestya.
On that occasion, Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager Comm Rail & CSR PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus added that the implementation of Pertamina’s TJSL program was in line with the implementation of Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) and Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) with the spirit of Energizing Community.
“With the implementation of the Pertamina Enduro Friends of Prisons Program, hopefully we will be able to create a second chance for fellow correctional inmates and open up new job opportunities with high enthusiasm in the automotive world, especially repair shops,” he said.
This Enduro workshop is equipped with mechanical equipment and Pertamina lubricant products which was built in the parking lot area of the Sidoarjo Class IIA prison which can be directly seen by the public.
“We express our gratitude for the implementation of this program. We really appreciate this activity. Hopefully in the future, this program can run well, provide support, provide benefits and provide provisions for our friends who are in prison,” explained Prayogo Mubarak, Head of the Class IIA Prison Security Unit, expressed his thanks to the company for the initiative to pay attention to the inmates.
One of the inmates of the MK Penitentiary who is a mechanic in this program said that with this program he served the remainder of his prison term more usefully.
“Hopefully this program can help me when I return to society and my family. Yesterday we were given training. Now I can change the oil, change the clutch lining,” he said.
