Former Employee Reveals Weaknesses of Tesla`s Autopilot System

,

A former Tesla employee, Michael Krupski, recently exposed the weakness of the autopilot system created by the electric car company from the United States (US).

Krupski, who worked at Tesla for five years, said that the company had ignored safety requirements in developing and implementing autopilot.

As a result, the Tesla autopilot system is vulnerable to phantom braking or sudden, unnecessary braking.

“I think the hardware and software are not ready. This affects all of us because we are basically an experiment on public roads. So even if you don’t have a Tesla, your kids are still walking on the sidewalk,” said Krupski as quoted by Carscoops , Thursday (7/12/2023).

Furthermore, Krupski claims that Tesla does not follow the necessary safety procedures to ensure that drivers use Autopilot safely.

So far Tesla has not provided an official response to Krupski’s accusations. However, the company has repeatedly stated that autopilot is a safe technology.

For your information, the autopilot system in Tesla cars is a driver assistance system. The system offers a variety of features, including lane centering, traffic-aware cruise control, and automatic lane changes.

Tesla’s Autopilot has experienced rapid development in recent years. At first, this system was only able to keep the car in its lane.

Nevertheless, Tesla’s autopilot system has received many complaints from its users. Some cases even note that the autopilot system has caused a number of traffic accidents.
