PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) released an official statement responding to the situation following the announcement by Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (DMC) and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on 20 December 2023 regarding irregularities in certification procedures which were announced on 28 April 2023.
Quoted from the official Daihatsu Indonesia release as received, Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (DMC) and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) apologize for the inconvenience caused to all stakeholders, especially customers, dealers, suppliers and all related parties.
DMC and TMC have decided to temporarily postpone vehicle deliveries for the domestic market and markets outside Japan, until they receive confirmation from the relevant authorities and stakeholders.

“Regarding the certification process, we are also fully coordinating with government authorities as stakeholders and determinants of the homologation process in Indonesia. It has been determined that ADM’s domestic production will continue to operate normally in accordance with plans to meet market needs in Indonesia,” stated Daihatsu Indonesia’s official statement .
With the incident in Japan, Daihatsu Indonesia apologizes for the inconvenience caused.

Daihatsu vehicles also comply with applicable regulations,” read the continuation of Daihatsu Indonesia’s statement.
“And, we also continue to coordinate with the Indonesian government authorities. Daihatsu customers can still use their vehicles safely and comfortably,” explained the next statement.
In accordance with the principal’s direction, ADM production for the export market will be temporarily suspended, awaiting confirmation from the authorities in the export destination country. Efforts will be made as soon as possible to obtain confirmation, so that ADM can fulfill export requests as planned.
