Tourist destinations are starting to get busy during the Christmas holidays, which one is your favourite?

Approaching the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays, a number of tourist destinations will be busy with tourists who want to enjoy the year-end holidays.

So, which tourist destination is the people’s favorite place to spend the Christmas holiday? According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, Bali is still the favorite tourist destination for tourists during this year’s Christmas holiday.

“From the data we can see that the favorite destination is still Bali,” said Sandiaga Uno when interviewed at the Sapta Pesona Building, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wednesday (20/12/2023).

Apart from Bali, people also choose to vacation in several tourist destinations on the island of Java, especially those that can be accessed by land. The number of visits to several tourist destinations on the island of Java has even reached more than 70 percent.

Not only that, Sandiaga Uno said, several other areas of Java such as Magelang, Borobudur, Bromo, Malang and Banyuwangi are also quite sought after and are people’s favorite places to visit.

Airline ticket prices are increasing

Entering the year-end holidays, the use of air transportation is also increasing. This resulted in some airline tickets experiencing price increases. In fact, the price increase could be up to three times. This has become a complaint for tourism operators because plane ticket prices have risen high.

Seeing this phenomenon, Sandiaga Uno said that this was a challenge for the aviation industry. And his party will continue to encourage airlines to adjust ticket prices in accordance with the regulations.

“We always say that one of the challenges in the aviation industry is adjusting tariffs when the burden of visits or movements of domestic tourists occurs at peak times such as New Year. And we will continue to encourage flights to comply with government regulations. “We ensure the comfort of tourists and holidaymakers at Christmas but also the sustainability of the business,” concluded Sandiaga Uno.
