The presidential and vice presidential candidate pair, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin are scheduled to undergo a medical examination at the Army Hospital (RSPAD) on Saturday (21/10/2023).
Chairman of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU), Hasyim Asy’ari, said that medical examinations are part of the stages of nominating presidential and vice presidential candidates.
“A capability assessment will be carried out on whether they can carry out their duties as president and vice president which will be carried out by the RSPAD inspection team and will be carried out on Saturday 21 October 2023,” said Hasyim at the Indonesian KPU office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (19/10/2023).
Apart from that, said Hasyim, the KPU will also verify the validity of each document that has been provided by each candidate pair.
“Entering the verification stage whether it is valid or not, the size is correct or not, valid or not, then there will be an opportunity, if not then there is an opportunity for completeness and improvement,” he explained.
As is known, Anies and Cak Imin officially registered as presidential and vice presidential candidates with the Indonesian KPU, Thursday (19/10/2023).
Both registrations were accompanied by thousands of sympathizers in front of the KPU office. Also present accompanied Anies and Cak Imin to the registration room for presidential and vice presidential candidates led by supporting parties who are members of the Change Coalition, namely PKS, NasDem and PKB.
The second registration plan, which was scheduled for 08.00 WIB, was delayed. Because Anies and Cak Imin entered the Indonesian KPU office to register at around 09.45 WIB.
They were stopped in front of the KPU office gate because of the crowd of supporters. Nevertheless, they were finally seen entering.
Based on monitoring, both of them immediately submitted the administration files for the presidential and vice presidential candidates to the chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Hasyim Asy’ari.
“Thank you to the KPU and Bawaslu for accepting us to register on this first day. We wanted to come at 8 o’clock but because of traffic jams. So we apologize for coming late. We came with complete documents. We brought a big mission, hopefully “We can carry out this mandate,” said Anies, Thursday (19/10/2023).
