Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi believes that the term of office of Acting DKI Governor Heru Budi Hartono will be extended. He believes Heru received positive marks from the evaluation carried out by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
On October 17, Heru will complete one year of serving as Acting Governor. This means that an evaluation will be carried out by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) before determining whether the position will be extended or not.
“From what I see, (Heru’s position) has been extended,” said Prasetyo to reporters, Friday (13/10/2023).
Prasetyo assesses that Heru has worked well as regional head. All programs that were instructed by the president and that were prepared by the previous governor have been implemented and even improved.
“Now what is being judged is that we are giving the president, governor, mayor, regent, they already have a program that is sustainable, well, let’s continue this,” he said.
He also gave Heru a note to complete priority programs such as flood management. One solution is to speed up the construction of embankments.
“Sodetan Ciliwung is good now, that’s good. We can’t possibly go to the SDA there, (the Department of) health and education won’t do anything about it,” he explained.
Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, answered questions from media crew after undergoing an inspection at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Monday (10/4/2023). [/Alfian Winanto] Previously, the Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono will soon end his term of office after completing one year in office on October 17 tomorrow. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) will decide whether to extend it or not based on the evaluation results.
Responding to this, Heru admitted that he didn’t want to worry about whether it might be extended or not. He completely handed over the decision to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“My original position was Chief of Staff to the President (KSP), so I was assigned to be the Acting Governor, it’s up to the person who assigned it and it’s up to the Ministry of Home Affairs to judge,” said Heru to reporters, Wednesday (11/10/2023).
Furthermore, Heru admitted that he only focused on working to carry out his duties as best as possible. If he is mandated to hold the position of temporary DKI regional head again, he will comply.
“Yes, don’t want to, yes, work, yes, be assigned, yes, please,” he concluded.
It is known that Heru served as Acting Governor for a term of one year and was evaluated every three months. After one year in office, the Ministry of Home Affairs will decide whether Heru’s position will be extended for another year or not.
