The increasing number of Chinese car brands offering products at low prices in Indonesia has given rise to the opinion that Japanese cars, which have dominated the market, are too expensive.
Even Harry Kamora as Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) explained the reasons why Chinese cars are much cheaper than Japanese cars.
Even though the technology and design offered by Chinese cars are not inferior to Japanese cars.
“I’ve always been asked, how come China can make cheap cars? Others just make huge profits. In essence, if we look at the price of China’s cheap cars, we look at China’s way of being a state and nation. What is expensive in China? There’s nothing “, but good quality. That’s what we have to learn,” said Harry Kamora, Tuesday (19/12/2023).
The CO-CEO of PT Sokonindo Automobile (DFSK), Alexander Barus, said the same thing, that currently available cars with the features and technology could be sold cheaper than now.
DFSK Glory i-Auto with mainstay features voice command and i-Talk [DFSK]. “For too long consumers in Indonesia have bought cars that are too high (overpriced),” said the man who is familiarly called Alex
Alex added, it’s time now it provides reasonable prices. DFSK is also known to dare to sell its products at lower prices than competitors in its class, especially from Japanese brands.
“We have many features and also sophisticated technology for the cars we market,” said Alex.
Take for example the Chinese car brand Chery Omoda 5 which is currently priced starting from IDR 334.8 million. This price is cheaper than the Toyota Yaris Cross, whose price starts at IDR 351 million.
