Suzuki does not close the opportunity to present electric vehicles in the commercial segment

PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) admits that it does not rule out the possibility of introducing electric vehicles in the commercial vehicle segment.

Potentially, the 4W Marketing & Business Strategy Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, his party will always make improvements to every product presented.

“So we do not rule out the possibility that anything could happen. However, for now, the Suzuki Carry with all the existing technology can still compete and meet the needs of the commercial segment in Indonesia,” said Harold Donnell, on the sidelines of the discussion held Automotive Journalists Forum (Forwot), Sunday (3/12/2023).

Furthermore, Harold said, Suzuki is presenting the Suzuki Carry as much as possible to be able to meet business needs in the commercial segment.

With existing business patterns and infrastructure, Suzuki sees that its current vehicles can still meet the needs of the existing market.

“We think that this vehicle (Carry) is still very acceptable. This is proven by us being able to maintain market share for low-end pickups in this segment by using the Carry product,” he said.

Commercial Segment Electric Vehicles

Not only passenger cars, the commercial vehicle segment is also starting to become a target for brand holder agents (APM) to introduce electric vehicles.

It is noted that DFSK Gelora E has already filled this segment with electric vehicles.

Apart from that, there is also Fuso which plans to introduce electric vehicles through the e-Canter product starting next year.

The latest automotive company from South Korea to aggressively introduce electric vehicles, Hyundai has also announced its intention to introduce electric vehicles in the commercial segment.
