PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) is experiencing a positive trend in hybrid vehicle sales in Indonesia.
Since the initial launch of the Suzuki hybrid car in mid-2022, Suzuki has seen a development in consumer interest until November 2023.
Suzuki recorded an increase in hybrid car sales of 21% compared to the previous month.
This increase was obtained from the accumulated sales of 3 Suzuki hybrid vehicles, namely the All New Ertiga Hybrid, Grand Vitara, and New XL7 Hybrid with a dominance of 49% of total passenger vehicle sales in November 2023.
According to Randy R. Murdoko, Asst. to Dept. Head of 4W Sales PT SIS, the increase in sales of hybrid vehicles is supported by public trust in the superiority and performance of environmentally friendly vehicles presented by Suzuki.
“In November, we received positive sales records, especially from the passenger vehicle segment which has embedded hybrid technology. “Hybrid sales have increased by up to 21% in November 2023 when compared to October 2023. From this figure, we see that people’s orientation is slowly changing, who are now increasingly concerned about the importance of using environmentally friendly vehicles,” said Randy, Friday (29 /12/2023).
If you map the distribution of Suzuki hybrid vehicle sales in Indonesia, the Suzuki hybrid sales market is still dominated by Java.
Jabodetabek itself is the region with the highest contribution, namely 48%, then followed by the East Java region with a contribution of 15%, followed by Central Java at 7%, and West Java at 6%.
Meanwhile, for provinces outside Java, which are currently also starting to adopt the environmentally friendly vehicle trend, they come from the provinces of Bali and East Kalimantan.
The condition of Suzuki’s sales in November 2023 means that the sales comparison between passenger cars is equal at 50.1% and 49.9% for commercial cars.
“Through the increase in sales last November, of course we will also continue to strive to create a better environment and low emission vehicles in the future by reaching wider areas so that we can slowly switch to hybrid vehicles and also implement an Eco driving style -Driving,” concluded Randy.
