This was revealed in an upload to the Instagram account @korupmas. In the upload, it is shown how seconds the starting gate fell and hit one of the racers.
Initially, the circuit seemed like heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. Even so, the race continued.
When the racers accelerated their motorbikes when starting, suddenly the starting gate fell.
There were several racers who escaped being caught by the starting gate. However, two racers actually got unlucky because they were hit by the starting gate. One of the two racers reportedly died as a result of being hit by the starting gate.
In another video, there is a motorbike belonging to a racer going fast without a rider. The motorbike almost hit one of the spectators who was watching the race.
If you look at MotoGP class races, when the weather is bad, the organizers are allowed to wait or even cancel the race.
This is to maintain the safety of the racers who are dueling on the circuit. As happened during the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, where Dorna Sport chose to postpone the race because of quite heavy rain.
Then, the figure of Mbak Rara came to stop the rain with her ritual. Mbak Rara’s efforts were successful, and the race continued.
