A group of dealers from automotive companies delivered an open letter to United States President Joe Biden to ease the requirements for future sales of electric cars.
As many as 4,000 automotive company dealers who have joined together admit that they have difficulty selling electric cars.
“Current demand cannot keep up with the number of BEVs entering our dealers,” wrote an open letter from the dealers, quoted from Carscoops, Wednesday (29/11/2023).
In the open letter it is also written that the current regulations are not realistic with what consumers need.
Apart from that, the main problem faced by dealers is inadequate charging infrastructure. Customers who don’t have the option to charge at home will have to rely on public electric vehicle charging stations.

Electric Cars Lack of Interest In a poll conducted by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago and the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, nearly half of Americans said they were unlikely to buy an electric car as their next car.
Their reasoning largely points to a lack of charging options and high costs as the main barriers to switching to electric.
It was recorded that 47% of adults in the US said they were unlikely to switch to an electric car. Only 19% of respondents said they were “very” or “extremely” likely to buy an electric car.
