Fransesco `Pecco` Bagnaia, who rides the Ducati Desmosedici GP with the Ducati Lenovo team, closed the 2023 MotoGP world racing championship with the first podium at the Valencia Grand Prix while also locking in the world title for two consecutive seasons.
Pecco leads the final standings ahead of two other Ducati riders, namely Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac) and Marco Bezzecchi (VR46).
Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati said, Pecco had an extraordinary season and history repeated itself, becoming the first Ducati racer to become World Champion twice in MotoGP.
“I also want to congratulate Jorge for triggering a duel for the title until the last race and Bez, who has long been part of the world championship challenge,” said Claudio Domenicali, in his statement, Monday (27/11/2023).

Apart from the MotoGP victory, the Ducati team won the WorldSBK title also through defending champion Alvaro Bautista and Nicolo Bulega’s first success in WorldSSP proving the philosophy at Borgo Panigale regarding innovation and limitless performance benchmarks.
The common thread that unites all of Ducati Corse’s successful racing seasons lies in the engineering excellence that has made the Desmosedici GP, Panigale V4 R and Panigale V2 the best bikes on the grid in their respective championships.
So far no other motorbike manufacturer before Ducati has been able to win the World Rider and Constructor Championship titles in MotoGP and WorldSBK for two consecutive seasons.
For Ducati, the only non-Japanese manufacturer capable of winning the World Champion title in MotoGP, this is the third rider title in its history, while the number of Superbike world championship titles won by the racer from Borgo Panigale is 16.

Meanwhile, CEO of Ducati Indonesia, Jimmy Budhijanto said that Pecco’s performance throughout the 2023 season proves that Valentino Rossi’s pupil has the mentality of a true champion. Likewise with Alvaro Bautista who also successfully won the WorldSBK world title for two consecutive seasons.
“This championship title is a very worthy result for Pecco and the entire Ducati family in the world. The world title for two consecutive seasons in MotoGP and WorldSBK plus the WorldSSP championship title is the best gift for the entire Ducati family in the world, including Ducati fans and Ducati enthusiasts in Indonesia,” said Jimmy Budhijanto.
