The route to the Gunung Mas Rest Area is quite easy. From the direction of Jakarta, travelers can choose the Jagorawi Toll route, then exit at the Gadog toll exit.

This seven hectare Rest Area was built starting September 2020December 2021 with a total budget of IDR 52.9 billion. Not just a place to stop, the rest area is also equipped with three parking areas covering an area of 1,774 square meters which can accommodate around 500 cars, a mosque covering an area of 576 square meters, and a viewing plaza covering an area of 572.27 square meters.
There are also meeting points for evacuating visitors in the event of a disaster, docking stations, parks or green open spaces, amphitheater, retention pools, Waste Management Sites (TPS), and public toilets.
Since the construction plan, the rest area has been targeted to be able to accommodate 516 street vendors (PKL) and micro businesses.
“Apart from functioning as a stopover for motorists, the presence of rest areas is also encouraged to provide real economic benefits for local communities by providing kiosks for small and medium businesses to promote local products and culinary delights,” said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in a statement the press.
This rest area is part of the support for structuring the Puncak Area, Bogor Regency, West Java Province to increase agro-tourism activities after the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Apart from that, the construction of this rest area is also a long-term effort to reduce the risk of landslides on the Puncak route due to changes in space use, high rainfall and topographic conditions.
