President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) released special National Mother’s Day doodles on social media. This image always steals the attention of netizens because it often includes funny characters and writing.
Jokowi also congratulated Mother’s Day in the caption of his post. She admits that playing the role of mother is not easy. For the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mother’s Day can be a momentum to remember all the goodness of mothers to their children.
“We never realize how difficult it is to be a mother because they seem to carry out their role so easily. A mother can love tenderly, can withstand the waves of life as hard as rocks, can hide sadness behind a sincere smile, while preparing her children “Welcome to the future. Today, we remember again the kindness, affection and generosity of mothers. Happy Mother’s Day,” wrote Jokowi in the caption, quoted on Friday (22/12/2023).
Doodles are also dominated by pictures of mothers doing various activities. Such as teaching, taking children to school, sweeping the yard, mothers shopping at vegetable carts, and portraits of pregnant women. In the middle of the doodles there is also a character who looks like Jokowi wearing a white shirt and black trousers holding a bouquet of flowers.
Netizens suspect that this character is indeed Jokowi who is going to visit his mother’s grave.
Apart from pictures of each character, netizens are still looking for other figures who are also characteristic of each of Jokowi’s doodles. Namely the existence of an orange cat. Apart from the orange cat, there are also additional characters in the form of a three-striped cat who is depicted breastfeeding her babies and a duckling who joins in.
Not only cats, apparently there are other tickling things about these doodles. Namely, the words “Data Transfer Center” on a vegetable cart surrounded by mothers shopping while chatting.

“Salfok and Mr. BPK Bunga… like Mr. Jokowi,” said @irulxxxxx.
“The flowers that Mr Jokowi brought were a symbol that he would “break up” to visit his mother’s grave,” said @antxxxxx.
However, Jokowi’s upload on his Twitter account actually received a number of criticisms from netizens. Many people think that Jokowi misinterpreted the celebration of Mother’s Day.
“Mother’s Day commemoration in Indonesia is different from Mother’s Day, sir. Mother’s Day is to encourage the spirit of the 1928 First Indonesian Women’s Congress, to achieve equality in education, marriage, health and social roles,” said @sekar_galuh.
“In fact, it glorifies women’s domestic role,” said @rbuxxx.

Mother’s Day was born from the women’s movement at the First Women’s Congress in Indonesia which took place 22 – 25 December 1928 in Yogyakarta.
