PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) announced a price increase for the Chery Omoda 5 GT model starting December 5 2023. The Chinese company’s flagship compact SUV will experience a price increase of around IDR 5 million.
“Beyond our expectations, demand for the Chery Omoda 5 GT is currently increasing and therefore PT Chery Sales Indonesia has to speed up production, but at the same time there is an increase in the price of raw materials and spare parts in the global market which is affecting the production costs of the Chery Omoda 5 GT and we have to adjust prices for consumers,” said Qu Ji Zong, Executive Vice President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, Thursday (23/11/2023).
Qu Ji Zong added, Chery is committed to providing the best driving experience from quality products. Of course, this can only be realized by using high standard raw materials and spare parts.
“Chery Omoda 5 GT production results will always conform to Chery’s global quality standards as part of Chery’s main commitment to delivering valuable products,” he said.
The Chery Omoda 5 GT has dimensions of 4,400 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width and 1,588 mm in height. If previously the Omoda 5 types Z and RZ were only equipped with a 1,500cc TCI engine, the GT variant has a different engine with a significant increase in power.
The engine unit with a capacity of 1,600cc Turbo Gasoline Direct Injection (TGDI), which is the heart of the engine, is capable of producing up to 197 HP of power with peak torque reaching 290 Nm.
The fantasits provisions are distributed to the two front wheels for the FWD type and the four wheels for the AWD type via a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
This transmission is different from the Omoda 5 types Z and RZ which use Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). This shows that there are differences in the character and profile of Omoda 5 GT and non-GT users.
Currently the price for the Chery Omoda 5 GT FWD is selling for IDR 448.8 million and IDR 488.8 million for the AWD type.
With an increase of IDR 5 million, the Chery Omoda 5 GT will increase to IDR 453.8 million and IDR 493.8 million respectively. All prices are on the road in Jakarta.
