Food prices at Raffi Ahmad`s Beach Club are expensive, can residents with Yogyakarta minimum wage afford it or not?

Posted on December 28, 2023August 8, 2025 by syauqi wiryahasana

Raffi Ahmad recently shared surprising news. The reason is, he announced that he would build a Beach Club in the Gunung Kidul area, Yogyakarta. This has attracted a lot of criticism because it is feared that the existence of the Beach Club will have a bad impact on the environment.

Moreover, the Beach Club was built in a karst area which is very useful as a groundwater producer for the community. With the construction of this Beach Club, people are afraid that they will not be able to access groundwater.

However, it’s not just the impact on the environment, people are also worried about whether the food served at restaurants is affordable or not. The reason is, apart from being delicious, according to netizens, the price given must be affordable.

“Apart from the food having to be delicious, it also has to be cheap. Especially for local residents,” commented one netizen.

The reason netizens are warning about cheap food is because Raffi Ahmad’s Beach Club in Padang, namely the Marawa Beach Club, is known to be quite expensive. Based on the Marawa Beach Club Instagram, the entrance ticket costs IDR 100 thousand for adults alone, while for children IDR 50 thousand.

Some of the food served is also not cheap. Some of the food served includes Oxtail Sop (Rp. 190 thousand), Grilled Ribs (Rp. 220 thousand), Beef Kwetiau (Rp. 115 thousand), Panacotta (Rp. 65 thousand), Seafood Pasta (Rp. 95 thousand), Oxtail Fried Rice (Rp. 135 thousand), and others.

The drinks themselves are also not cheap. Some of the drinks served include Cafe Latte (Rp. 35 thousand), Caramel Macchiato (Rp. 35 thousand), Sun Kiss (Rp. 48 thousand), 600 milliliter mineral water (Rp. 25 thousand), Rose of My Eyes (Rp. 48 thousand), and others.

UMR Yogyakarta

Because of the high prices, it is feared that the Beach Club in Yogyakarta will also be the same. On the other hand, Yogyakarta’s UMR is considered still small if the price of the food served is that expensive.

As is known, quoting from the Yogyakarta Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) website, the following is the UMR accepted for the province of D.I Yogyakarta for 2023.

Kulonprogo has a UMR of IDR 2,050,447 per month. Bantul has a UMR of IDR 2,066,439 per month.Gunungkidul has a UMR of IDR 2,049,266 per month.Sleman has a UMR of IDR 2,159,519 per month.Yogyakarta has a UMR of IDR 2,159,519 per month.DI Yogyakarta has a UMR of IDR 1,981,782 per month. How In your opinion, can Raffi Ahmad’s beach club be enjoyed by people with a minimum wage in Yogyakarta?
