The heated moment of the vice presidential debate on Friday (22/12/2023) is still widely discussed by the public. Vice presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was also observed to be still touching on the 2024 presidential election debate.
Gibran during a visit to Manado, North Sulawesi appeared to be sarcastic during the closing remarks of the three vice presidential candidates. He admitted that he had just learned that during a debate he could bring notes or cheat sheets.
Initially, Gibran met MSME players in Manado City on Sunday (24/12/2023). He said that the people of Manado were great people.
“But we have to be encouraged more to appear. Young people are given the opportunity, it’s normal for young people to be underestimated,” said Gibran, who was wearing a sky blue shirt.
“Being underestimated is normal, then we just have to wait for the timing to prove it, don’t, just don’t let us give up. Don’t let us be humble, let’s just prove it,” he continued.
After that, Gibran then touched on the closing words or closing statement during the vice presidential debate.
“Yesterday we asked for this at the closing, closing statement of the debate. I just found out that in the debate you can bring cheat sheets, the others use cheat sheets, I have to do it,” said Gibran, greeted by loud applause from the people present.
It is known that the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday, 13 November 2023, determined three prospective pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates to be participants in the 2024 presidential election. The results of the drawing and determination of the serial numbers of participants in the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, 14 November 2023, pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka serial number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3. The KPU has also set a campaign period from 28 November 2023 to 10 February 2024, then the voting schedule is on 14 February 2024.
